... No. The point is that Obama's administration has put into place a lot more accountability. ROTFLOL.... Right, accountability!? That's funny... No. Left accountability. The Right didn't even try to be accountable. -- Nom=de=Plume |

... Hate to tell you, but the first bank bailout happened during Bush's administration. Are you going to blame the president for that too? Why didn't bama learn from Bushes mistake and demand some accountability instead of making the same mistake again? Having trouble spelling? It's "O"bama. There's much more accountability in the more recent bailouts. Why, cause Biden told you, or was it Letterman?? Because of the facts... sorry. -- Nom=de=Plume |

I agree! But, there are some that only want to blame Obama or Bush. Instead of blame, how about looking at the facts, what happened, and how to fix it? Nahhh... too straightforward. The only real "fix" is to rebuild American industry and start making things here again instead of just creating "prosperity" on paper. That may bump into the carbon tax problem. China is building new coal plants at a rate of 2 a week to fuel their factories. If we can't find a way of coming up with the energy to compete with that in some acceptable and economically feasible way we will never dig our way out of this hole. I agree. We certainly have the brains. We absolutely need to address the global implications of China's plants. Doing something by ourselves (talking greenhouse gases) isn't the ultimate solution. It needs to be a global effort. We have (and will have more) influence around the world. We need to use our influence and power for good. -- Nom=de=Plume |

... I accurately laid it at Bush's door. Believe what you want! You and your friends here seem to think that racism is funny or can be dismissed as such. Comments like this are, unfortunately, typical of those who would rather create fear and mistrust vs. have an intelligent discussion of the important issues. Liberals have been crying racist any time 'Bama gets criticized. You've just joined the crowd. Racist, my ass. Really. It's a bunch of bull****, but it does seem to kindle flames, just as it is meant to do... When are minority Americans going to figure out the only folks that seem to see race in everything is the Dem leadership... It's just another deflection... Good grief. You're actually going to deny that the Republican leadership (Rush, Beck, etc.) are not racists? -- Nom=de=Plume |

Al Gore is president? No wait, he's in Congress. No... I know. I know. He's on the Supreme Court! I originally typed "Obama" but I didn't want to keep slamming a guy who is basically a puppet for the people who put him in office. You notice he has backed off of all of his "change" rhetoric since his Jimmy Carter moment (roughly defined as the day he realized the president is largely a ceremonial office) Gore has their ear and is the high priest in the carbon tax crusade. That cult has taken over the left. How do you come to the conclusion that Obama is a puppet? The majority of Americans put him in office and by a wide margin in the electoral college. We'll see if he backs off his "change" rhetoric. It's not clear yet. If he does, e.g., giving away the public option to a bunch of right-wing stooges of the insurance industry (no, there are Democrats there also), he will lose his base. Not sure what Carter has to do with anything. He's been out of office for a while now. I was never a big fan of his. I guess it's got to be someone's fault, so Gore is it? -- Nom=de=Plume |

... The real solution is to stop eating so much meat. That would have an immediate and positive effect. The other things take years. It will cost you three or four times as much in energy to replace the animal protein with plant protein. ?? From where do you get such notions... the moon? -- Nom=de=Plume |

Unfortunately our power and influence is slipping away very quickly. In a decade we may be about as important as France, Spain and the UK. Old empires desperately trying to cling to past glories. China may just call the debt and do what the Soviets couldn't do with 10,000 nuclear weapons ... bury us. Well, I'm not that worried about China. They need us in some ways more than we need them. I read somewhere about the consequences of them pulling the plug on credit, and the conclusion was that they would suffer more. In some ways, I'm more concerned about the "new" Russia. While they certainly have their own economic problems, they also have a very strong nationalistic bent and the money to push. I'm also concerned about Pakistan/India. Talk about mutual paranoia... with nukes to boot. -- Nom=de=Plume |
