The Hondouran government removed its President according to the Honduran Constitution when the Honduran President tried to hold an extra Constitutional referendum. The Honduran legislature was the prosecutor, the Honduran Supreme Court was judge and the Honduran military was the de facto police force. I won't deny Zelaya overstepped his bounds, but I'll also guarantee his removal was extra-constitutional. Over the years, Honduras has had far too many coups, to encase them in their Constitution. Castro, Chavez and Obama didn't like what happened because they saw it as a puny little Central American country enforcing Constitutional law thereby preventing the chief of state from staying in office beyond his constitutional limited term in office setting a bad precedent, according to them. |
