A truly pure, unadulterated, sentiment of an egalitarian doctrine.
Admirable.

I'm not worthy. I'm a lowly dilettante.

Oh, that wasn't Neil Young? No, I remember. That was all about
heroin abuse. (Excellent song, excellent group. Those were the days,
my friend - ala Mary Hopkins.)

It's too bad that these Palin abusers don't have a proper sense of
history or decency. Naturally, their immediate retreat is to the
Republican hypocrisy/family values argument. My only regret is that I
did succomb to the ad hominem in this last note. Still, I'd just as
soon call a horse a horse than pretend that I'm justified in bullying
other persons.

Palin...the gift that keeps on giving, redux:

ABC News
Sarah Palin Says Farewell to Alaska Governor's Office
Poll Shows Her Popularity is Suffering, But Could She Have a Political
Second Act?
By JOHN HENDREN

July 24, 2009 —

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, once considered a top candidate for 2012 GOP
presidential nomination after sharing the ticket with Sen. John McCain
last year, leaves the governor's office this weekend with an
increasingly negative image and concerns over the depth of her intellect
that threaten any future political candidacy.

Just four in 10 voters now hold a favorable view of Palin overall -- a
new low, down from 58 percent last year, an ABC News/Washington Post
poll has found. A majority of 53 percent now view her unfavorably, a
perilous figure for any public office seeker.

Prediction?

Palin will continue to make ignorant, divisive statements, the precise
sort of crap that appeals to her supporters, the basest of the GOP base.

If Palin ruins herself, there is nothing to lament. If she is ruined
by a perpetual onslaught of character assassination, then I have
complete sympathy for her. Any damage, for the most part, that she
has accrued, as it now stands, has come from egotists and gutless
assassins.

The damage she has accumulated to date is a result of her divisiveness,
her lack of knowledge on issues, her difficulties in getting along with
her peers and with the party apparatus, her unwillingness to follow at
least some of rules that most "national candidates" follow, her
inability to keep her mouth shut sometimes, the fact that she quit her
job in mid-stream, and all the ethical issues.
I think we can take heart in the fact that you don't write history
books. (You don't, do you?)

Palin is an embarrassment, along with many of GOP's top dogs these days,
including Vitter, Sanford, Limbaugh, Ensign, and all the other holier
than thou, over the top Republican conservatrash.

Will Durant could have used you when he was writing his "Age of
Angst." Or was that the "Age of Vitriole"? No, I think it was the
"Age of Anti-History." Heck, I can't recall. He had so many in his
oeuvre.

I call 'em as I see 'em.

The remedy then is to remove those cobalt-colored glasses.
