This has nothing to do with heightened security. It is just a money thing for
Bush. It was going on long before Iraq. From: Roy Jose Lorr Date: 5/16/2004 1:45 AM Eastern Daylight Time There are always heightened restrictions on "rights" during times of war. Don't think I'd want to live in a country that puts the whining and puling of the mush headed before self defense. |

Sorry Roy, but king george declared "hostilities over" therefore they
MUST BE and we are no longer in a war. But this thread was originally started to discuss the restrictions of the cruising sailor and not the pros and cons of the new US monarchy. But is certainly has generated quite a bit of discussion. I should have known better. To paraphrase _your_ remark, one of the quickest way for a newsgroup to degenerate is ... for people like you who should _also_ know better to start giving lectures on behavior to other people you've never met. Why you feel you should impose your own demands on complete strangers is your own affair. In the meantime, please spare the long-suffering regulars in this group the display of pomposity. Moral reformers have come and gone here for years now, and another round of "thou shall's" or "thou shall not's" is hardly necessary. -- Good luck and good sailing. s/v Kerry Deare of Barnegat http://kerrydeare.home.comcast.net/ |
