Sure, You can sail all the way up to the Aswan Dam..
Irving Johnson did it and there is a video of his life and adventures that includes his experiences on the Nile. I believe there is also a book. Do a Google search. If I were you, I would be content to read the book or watch the video, with the unsettled conditions and hatered of Westerners. I travel as an ordinary tourist, by land and air, as far as Luxor in '85. The tour guides were the only people who were freindly and trust worthy, even then. Steve s/v Good Intentions |
