I remember getting one for practically nothing with a coupon from Kool cigarettes. It sat in the garage for a long time, and I'm not sure whether or not I ever actually sailed it. Boy does that bring back memories. My first sail was on one of those Kool boats. Friend got one, we hauled it down to the beach and sailed it about five miles down wind. Found out after the fact that it didn't point all that well and could not make any decent headway to weather, so we beached it and walked back to the car. We spent the next week playing with modifications to the rig that would make it point better, but never got to test it, his dog dug a hole through the styrofoam hull and it broke in two. Frank |
