![]() "Roger Long" wrote in message ... "tom" wrote otherwise this is going to get expensive: haulout, fiberglass work to change hole for transducer, etc....#$%#$ I have an old unused thru hull transducer in my hull. Right next to it is a new one just glued to the inside of the fiberglass and it works great. See first picture on this page: http://home.maine.rr.com/rlma/Strider0604.htm I have taking out the old one and fiberglassing up the hole on my "someday" list but may never get around to it. It's a theoretical weak point if a floating object should hit that exact spot but anything at that point is likely to be sliding along the hull. I would have to be pitching just right on to something sharp and hard to punch that old transducer through. Yes, but that would be a problem whether it was working or not. Anyway, something that would do that would surely make a hole in your hull anyway. There are probably thousands of thruhull transducers in use and I have never heard of one being punched out |
