Default Marine stereos

will work for a long, long time. If you're going to mount on a cockpit, then
something serious in a gasketed box is best.

How about speakers for the cockpit?

Well THOSE had better be waterproof. We mounted ours in the aft inspection
ports as suggested by Tom on the C&C list.
The units in the cabin are not waterproof, but the cones are coated. Straight
paper cones won't last too long, even in a cabin.
