Marine stereos
Mark argues that regular car stereo equipment is
exactly the same as marine equipment. West Marine used to sell some "white radios" which were identical to the automotive units asside from the color. They were not weatherproofed in any way. I don't think they sell them anymore. That said, on your C&C 27 or my 32, a regular car stereo mounted below decks will work for a long, long time. If you're going to mount on a cockpit, then something serious in a gasketed box is best. Capt RB |
