The comments in the other threads about the physical demands of sailing are apt. Other than Larry (who apparently keeps his 250 lb frame trim by hauling beer and chasing his bikini-clad crew), what do the rest of you do to prepare yourself physically for sailing? Steve Hayes I use a rowing machine (Concept 2) in the winter, and row the hard dink while cruising. We haven't used an outboard in 6 years. Unfortunately, the rowing machine was used mainly to pile clothes on for the last few years, but this winter I been pretty good about rowing a virtual mile or two every day. |
