Does anyone know what would be involved with converting an Alpha outdrive to
the beefier Bravo drive. Its on a 27ft searay. |

Larry,
Basically, you would take the alpha outdrive off, and replace it with a bravo outdrive. The engines are identical, but the outdrive is totally different. I think that the Alpha is rated at up to 300HP continuous, so the only reason to replace with a Bravo is if you've added some real oomph to your engine. Do a google search on Mercruiser Bravo outdrives, and you'll find places that sell them as well as Alphas. They are somewhat more expensive... Have fun, Don W.
