converting Alpha drive to Bravo

Does anyone know what would be involved with converting an Alpha outdrive to
the beefier Bravo drive. Its on a 27ft searay.

Larry,

Basically, you would take the alpha outdrive off, and replace it with
a bravo outdrive. The engines are identical, but the outdrive is totally
different.

I think that the Alpha is rated at up to 300HP continuous, so the only
reason to replace with a Bravo is if you've added some real oomph to your
engine.

Do a google search on Mercruiser Bravo outdrives, and you'll find places
that sell them as well as Alphas. They are somewhat more expensive...

Have fun,

Don W.

the whole transom assembly is different for the bravo.
