Does the difference between humans and fishes pass right through your
mental digestive tract without leaving any thought residue?

And what, prey tell, oh expert in the feces, is the difference between
human feces and fish feces? Since both are the final result of a
basically identical process, the breaking down of organic compounds,
seems to be little if any difference. When you consider marine
mammals I would think the differences would be even less.

Yep, that's correct.

Hmm...so if I put "bio-diesel" in my boat engine obtained by back-yard
distillation of Chinese deep-fryer cast-offs, will I be breaking the
law if a drop of wok leavings scented lightly with pork flies out the
stern?

Weebles, you have a valid argument...as long as you can convince the fish to
get out of the water and use a prota-potty to compensate for what you are
adding.

I think that for most people of Weeble's ilk, the issue is not one of
biology but of Freudian psychology. Mean ol' mommy won't let them
poo-poo wherever they want, so they kick up a fuss.

Nope, just not overburdened with a chicken little, the sky is falling
mentality. Everything in feces - including human feces - is readily
biodegradable and serves as nutrients to many things in the water.

So the facts have pretty much passed you by again?

Nope, just look at them dispassionately rather than with the typical
environmentalist hysteria.

Consider what human feces is nutrient *for* (other than yourself) and
maybe you'll be able to get a clue.

They are nutrients for many things including fish and bacteria, just
like the feces of all other organisms. There is nothing specifically
'evil' about human feces that make them more dangerous or less
beneficial than other animal feces.

The problem is not with human feces. They become a problem only when
dropped in huge concentrations, such as when seaside sewage systems
discharge into the seas or when large vessels pump out their holding
tanks all at once, creating large plumes of black water. Small boats
discharging after each use, especially when the feces have been
treated through chlorination or lectrasan do nothing but add nutrients
to the water since the properly set up sanitary system should destroy
bacteria.
