Default Short or long legs?

Not everybody has the temperament to spend time at sea. Why don't you
see if you can find a captain to get your boat to Palm. Presumably, the
cost will be minimal given the economy.

If being at sea bores you instead of relaxing you, then maybe you need
to reconsider your plans. Instead of boat ownership, consider chartering.
