When I was a kid at summer camp I saw a dead snapping turtle that was about four foot long in the shell. Over two hundered pounds. This in a small Minnesota lake. I understand some salt water turtles run much bigger. Sure, sea turtles get a little bigger, but a 4' snapping turtle would be a dangerous beast... probably could drag away livestock! Considering that they can be aggressive (at least, the ones we have down here are, but hopefully they don't get that big) they could bemore dangerous than alligators... DSK |
