Hi everyone,

I need a replacement foredeck hatch for my 1963 28 foot Owens. It's
the type that is metal, round with glass in it and has 3 arms
protecting the glass. I dropped the anchor on it, bent 2 arms and
fractured the glass which now leaks. The boat is a full restoration so
I would prefer an exact replacement if possible. If you know of one,
or of a boat being parted out or of any other soure, please let me
know. I think the hatches were all the same on these boats over a
period of 6 years, so my chances of finding one aren't too remote.
Just remove INVALID from the email address to reply. I live in
southern Florida so if you are in the area I can drive over to pick it
up. Thanks,

Ron Wilson
Might try Sailorman in Ft Lauderdale or Dons Salvage in Clearwater.

Thank you, I've tried Sailorman but haven't heard of Don's salvage.

Don's has a lot of good stuff. They get new stock from discontinued models
as well as salvage. The couple times I've been there I ended up bringing
home a trunk full of stuff I didn't know I needed....
Good luck.

People like Ron are usually way to cheap to actually buy things. He'd rather
go around and mooch things for free. His boat looks like a wreck. That
particular model was ugly when it was brand new. A forty-five year old wood
boat??? What good is that?

Damn! I reinstalled my Newsgroup reader (in Virtualbox) and forgot to
re-install Willy-Boy's permanent kill filter so here he is again......
Just as stupid as he was before I kill-filed him.

I reckon he must be one of those ol-boys that jest can't learn.
Aw well, back he goes in the Kill File.

Cheers,

Bruce
