I suspect that the other two programs are more capable, but I can't figure them out. Caris Easy-ENC is anything but and gives me an error that the S-57 type files (extension .000) are incorrect. The Seven Seas Seemydenc program will load a chart but seems to have no easy controls to move around on the chart. Maybe I am missing something here. Does anyone have a complete explaination (maybe step-by-step) on how to use these programs? Unfortunately I do not. I have only tried "Seemydenc" at this point, and at best I would rate it as a "work in progress". There are ways to move around and zoom in/out but it takes effort to find it, and I don't recall the specifics at the moment. What we need, of course, is a fuly functioning navigations suite with the same look and feel as the better packages currently available. That would be worth paying for in my opinion if the charts continue to be free. |
