What is the primer for new galvanized chain? I'm looking for a primer I can use without paint over it, since paint normally chips off. Yellow primer would be great. As you've been told, zinc chromate is standard but isn't useful either. It's purpose is to prime before painting - not be a top coat. The zinc on the chain is what protects the chain from corrosion - not paint or primer over it. Leave it bare. |
