Yacht Delivery Website Feedback
Hi, I'm a web designer and I'd like your feedback (is it easy to use, do
you like the look/feel? etc.) on the website: http://www.reliance-yachts.com yacht delivery, crewing and yacht management are their main areas, so I hope that alt.sailing.boats.crew are the kind of people the site is targeted at. Thanks. -- Davémon |

Hate it....would not bother to read it. You assumed that everyone had set
their screen resolution the same as yours? For me, with a large monitor (I do graphics) set at 1600 x1200 all I get is a little box in the center with type too small to read. I are fighting the anarchy that is the web. Let the browser resize if it needs to....let go of your control issues. -- Thanks, Gene Palmiter (visit my photo gallery at http://palmiter.dotphoto.com) freebridge design group "Davémon" wrote in message . .. I stand on my initial assessment. I have gone back and tried it in both the
newest MS and Netscape browsers and it shows the same in both...and in both the image is in a small box that takes up a third of the screen horizontally and vertically...it could be many times larger. I suppose it could be a setting on my end but I believe I am at the default and don't recall making any changes...certainly not to MS Explorer as I seldom use it. -- Thanks, Gene Palmiter (visit my photo gallery at http://palmiter.dotphoto.com) freebridge design group "Davémon" wrote in message ... Why have you designed the screen to be 760 x 418 (roughly). As your
smallest screen will be 800x600, you have wasted a further 150 pixels at least on the height. You really should design for 1024x768 if you're going to design for any screen size at all, which you shouldn't do anyway. As for the feel, I don't like the menus, there is no change to the headings of these when you pass the mouse over and the menu pops up. This gives a feeling of, "did I open the right menu?", Perhaps the menus shouldn't open until I click, and the menu headers should only change colour when I hover the mouse over them. At present I don't feel in control as a user. As in your photos section, the full size of the photo is only slightly bigger than the thumbnail. If you'd not restrited yourself to such a small window then perhaps you could have had bigger photos. Plus the menus items are only active on the text and not the whole block around them. Think of the menus in a desktop app, that's how your menus should work, as that's what the user expects. Hope this helps. |
