On my Gulfstar 36 there is a teak toe rail. The port side rail is
rotting away and needs to be replaced. I was quoted $100 a foot for labor and materials. That means a 20 foot section needing to be replaced will cost me $2000. I am thinking of replacing it with plastic or aluminum or even leaving it off altogether. I have a two level lifeline so the toe rail is not all that necessary. Yes I know that one can slip under the rail but it would seem to me this is unlikely as anyone that is conscious should be able to get the lower line under their armpit before sliding under the rail. Anyone have any sources for aluminum or plastic toe rails? |
