Default Throughhull with back flow preventer?

That looks like a winner. The hull is to thick for the threaded neck so I
would have to fabricate something but the housing, gasket and ball will
work.

Might it make sense to grind thin a section of the cedar 'core' re-glass the
inside and think of it as a sump for the bailer?
Just a guess.
