OK Brian, settle down now. No need to be nasty. Most of these guys
don't even remember solid lifters and are not as smart as you, me and
Jax.

if you hold yourself to be as smart as Jax, you aren't giving yourself
much credit.

Dazed and Confuzed,
A little pointer for you, valves used in marine engines are made of
stainless steel with silicon impregnated bronze valve guides and
DO NOT RUST. There go's the moisture theory out the window.

I have. easier in fact to get moving than one stuck open.

and if the motor stops with that valve in the open position and there is any
moisture from condensation or gasket leaks, do you think that the valve closes
and then rusts? If you then turn the motor over, the valve spring may not be
able to break the rust and close the valve. It happens.
