misconception, an ignorant statement, a fallacy or a delusion.

You should spare yourself the time and bother as every subscriber to
this group already knows any Bobsprit post is a worthless waste of
space. The ONLY reason Bobsprit posts at all is to incite incredulous
response and waste people's time. Bobsprit takes two minutes to write
his typical bull**** post and then sits back and laughs when half a
dozen gullible people like you take probably a half hour of your time
with researching and another fifteen minutes rebutting his nonsense.

You think you're slapping him down but everybody who knows what's going
on realizes you are the puppet and Bobsprit is pulling your strings
making you jump, bounce, scream and shout and otherwise act the fool.
Bobsprit has endless laughs knowing how easy it is to manipulate people
who think they are soooo intelligent with all their formulas and book
learning yet have failed to learn not to bite an empty hook.

it takes him two minutes to type two words. 25 minutes each
post, on average.and then look at all his typos.

You are quite correct except in one key point: I greatly enjoy the
technical research behind doing VPP's and Polar diagrams. Just like Jax
was a catalyst for re-reading Einstein's works, this was just an excuse
to dust off the VPP studies which I've played with on and off over the
years. (Frankly neither come close to Nav, sadly, although Crantz comes
up with a good one on occasion but he doesn't follow through.)

I understand there's no way to "win" an "argument" with booby, any more
than one could win with jaxy. And I have no desire to "slap him down"
because that's impossible to do with someone who has no self respect.
Actually I simply saw this as a springboard for the sort of puzzle that
I've habitually played with for years. And, even though this response
was 15 minutes worth of research, it triggered several hours of
enjoyable reading into some other related topics. And it reminded me
that I only got halfway through the new edition of Principles of Yacht
Design last winter and its time to pick it up again.

Frankly, there's little incentive to prove something that's obviously
true, but there is some pleasure in proving something that seems
plausible is really bogus. Unfortunately, booby is the only person who
can be depended on to provide bogus claims about sailing.

So while booby may think I'm on his hook, from my point of view he's on
mine.
