Default Slips are for women and other pussies.

You know of course, that BS is going to tell you how his marina (or "club"
as he likes to call it) is different from all other marinas.

Actually BoatUS and other clubs like to call it that. But perhaps you
can educate everyone and tell us what other local facility offers what
our club does:

1) Slips with internet, power, storage and water
2) Dedicated dinghy dock (not doing double duty like most clubs with
their little docks)
3) Fish cleaning station (yep...lots of folks still love fishing)
4) Full service repairs, hauling and land storage
5) Free moorings to members
6) 24 hr security
7) Discounts for members to better restaurants on the Island
8) Discounts with two major sail lofts
9) Discounts with West Marine and Boat US.
10) Best water access bar none in the area, coupled with the best
protection from weather.
11) Large party deck overlooking the water with 4 gas grills free for
all members to use for parties and cookouts.

And what does Dave's club have? Moorings and a restaurant you MUST eat
at as part the membership. Our club has a voting board who were clever
enough to close up our clubhouse because most members prefered to be
boating, rather than paying too much for beer. Now if Dave was honest,
he'd explain that moorings outnumber slips 200 to 1 on the LIS. Slips
are hard to come by, especially at full service places like mine.
So go ahead, Dave. Tell everyone what other places offers all of that
here. Sure. It costs a lot more than your place, but I can safely say
that everyone who brings a sailboat from a mooring is willing to pay
it and never wants to be on a mooring again unless forced by finances.
THE LIS is a PROTECTED sailing ground and most folks would be happier
in a slip if they were available and affordable.

What is missing here?

12) Capt Rob as resident broker.
13) Capt Rob as resident marine surveyor.
14) Capt Rob as resident tow operator.
15) Capt Rob as resident insurance claim expert.
16) Capt Rob as resident appraiser.
17) Capt Rob as the Marina Prince.
18) Capt Rob the A-4 Ace.
19) Capt Rob never lies or abuses people.

If you can be all those things there and more, one has to wonder about the
"full service repairs".

Yes, we know plenty about your marina. Why doesn't it have a web page? hmmm?

Moo-hoo-haa-haa!

But Bob, BS's marina does have a web page. www.boatmax.com. You can take a
look and see whether it looks like a marina or a yacht club.

Now that yacht club is one class act.

Home of the noveau riche!

Tre gauche!

I'm surprised they had a blue blazer in Bob's size.

Wrong again. As usual. Stop in and see us some time.

Why? Do I need a no frills club like yours? Let me post a review:

NYCB is far from the fancy type of club some might imagine. There are
no slips, nor even a dinghy dock! You are required to drag your dinghy
up to the parking lot, remove the motor if you have one, and put it on
a rack when not in use. The clubhouse is neat and clean, but basically
just a large room where you can set up folding tables and chairs. This
is strictly a "no-frills" club. Some may want to look at the junior
sailing programs.
After sailing into the mooring field last season, the launch operator
was making her last run of the day at about 5 pm. Are you supposed to
SWIM to shore after that? Not sure how that works... I'd rather have a
dinghy dock, which would allow me to come and go at any hour, and
leave my dinghy in a "ready" condition rather than having to remove/
reinstall the motor and so forth every time I use it.
Sloppy radio conduct led to us having to phone in for our visit and we
were directed to the wrong mooring, but this is sadly common for many
clubs. Our experience was quite a lot like a visit to Douglaston Yacht
club, though they are a true club with all of the frills.

Face it, BS. You've got no credibility whatever. A total buffoon.

I think he's more of an ass than a buffoon.

If you had any real experience you wouldn't show yourself the total
idiot by
making up fairy tales and then having to back pedal. And you wouldn't
have
to Google high and low for somebody else's opinion.

No, Dave, once again you have it wrong. The opinion is from someone
you know. In fact your "club" barely qualifies at all. It's totally
low end and suits your boat. I edited out the name in that "review"
for a reason, Dave.
I also know, from a certain lady, that your boat is hardly a good
example of a CS 27...a boat that's not exactly sought after even in
great shape. So you have a dumpy old poorly maintained lemon of a boat
kept at a low end no frills club.
That's the truth and it's good enough for me. Let's hope that it's
good enough for you. Luckily Bob Crantz is supporting you...and you
need it!

There are other clubs with fewer frills

Yeah? Whitestone is one. Rottgut is another.
Sorry about your boat and "club."

Never heard of either of them. But I don't often get down your way.
Far
better sailing, as well as more interesting ports, at points east.

Never heard of rotgut??? It's a sailor's term, dumb ass! Of course you
don't know it.

BTW, didn't you say you're gonna get more than your usual 3 miles
from your
home port some time this summer?

We were in Port Jeff a few weeks ago. Does that count? How about a
real club like Centerport? Now THAT'S a nice club! When you visit
Centerport, it's a little tough to stomach calling your place a yacht
club. Of course they honored our membership as we see a lot of
transients and service from them.

That pretty much says it all, BS.

Yup. They're a nice club and the pretty girl driving the launch was
another small plus.
As you see I was sailing aboard a Santana 30/30 this weekend and then
a Rhodes 19.
That's my pretty wife at the tiller...

We're all waiting for ANY pics of your boat sailing!!
And I bet we'll never see any, especially after I posted the facts
about her condition!
