No matter what the tonnage, it feels good to accomplish a goal. BG Now
you have to decide whether to stay where you are or start building
towards something bigger. The next 5 years will go by quickly and you'll
have to think about your first renewal.
I'm coming up on mine.....next license will be issue # 6-12 (6th issue
Master, 12th license)..... Good luck and make it count....

Why was it worth it?

What I meant was, how are you going to use it.

The same way graduating from hs, college, masters
program.. and I'll probably actually use it.

I wouldn't know about any of those.

Or... how about:

"Mother Ocean, I've heard you call, I've wanted to sail
upon your waters since I was 3' tall."

Congratulations Jonathan..!

I "know."

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. I'm currently teaching at several
organizations, so it isn't needed for that. I think I'm going to teach more
advanced classes, offshore, and most places prefer Masters tickets to OUPV.
I'm also thinking about getting some more seatime on a couple of the
inspected vessels (sailing) in the area. And, I was thinking about some
minor ferry work. Most require 100 ton licenses but there are a few that
will take 50 ton licenses.

Yeah... this is technically my 2nd issue (1st was OUPV, Near Coastal), and I
guess they count that since the license says 2nd Issue. I'm working on my
seatime, as usual. :-)
