Linedrives use a looped furling line, and even if you cleat off the aft end of the taut loop, the drum will still spin if wind gets under the edge of the sail on the forestay. The only way to secure a Hood Linedrive against wind damage is to tie the drum off to a fixed point. I've never seen a Linedrive owner do that, and wonder why. Max |
