Default We mourn the passing . . .

We the subscribers to alt.sailing.asa gather to mourn the passing of yet
another asa great, Mr. Thom Stewart. Thom Stewart, also known as Old
Thom,
unsubscribed in disgust because he could no longer abide the latest
influx of sock puppets, meowers, flonkers and ditsy blondes. He also
mentioned feeling out of place because he no longer owned a boat or
sailed. (So what, old man, join the crowd!)

I liked Old Thom, he was a cherished friend. It saddened me to see his
life go all to hell because he sold a real sailboat and bought a
pilothouse motorsailer. Old Thom maintained health problems forced him
out of the sailing business but he failed to see it was his dependence
upon mechanical propulsion that was the real root cause of his losing
interest. Old Thom was an accomplished sailor and it must have pained
him greatly to realize he no longer had the right stuff - meaning he had
the wrong boat. It's simple folly to attempt to substitute a propellers
for sails.

I pray for Old Thom. It appeared from some of his last posts that he
might be straying from Christian values in his dotage. Like many others,
he was sucker punched by a book titled, "The DaVinci Code" where was
written blasphemy after blasphemy. I pray he turns back from the
downward sloping side path to the lava lakes and embraces true
Christianity. Jesus is Lord. Jesus never married. Jesus never produced
any offspring. Jesus' word is truth. Truth is law. Old Thom, turn back
to Jesus. Believe what Jesus said and not what modern-day heretics say
"about" Jesus. Theirs is the work of Lucifer. The riders of the
Apocalypse draw nigh.
