I guess I'm an old timer. I recognized the URL and ,
thankfully did not open it.

Having a bad week Taddy?

Scotty

Actually, yes, Scotty. There are going to be some very unhappy clients
tomorrow, and I'm also looking at a summer in drought in the middle of
the desert every two weeks with the temperatures in the low 50s

Yeah, but it's a DRY heat!

'fraid not. 'tis the season of thunderstorms. This area is far enough
north (Lat 27 S to Lat 28 30 S) to get regular tropical incursions, which
create roving thunderstorms, so when they're around, the 1% RH goes up to
70%. That means you can get appallingly bogged in fine fine loose dusty
sand and stuck there to be hit by a local thunderstorm which makes the
sand driveable but wipes out all movement on the clay flats...or one gets
stuck by floods coming in from the northeast. Makes for interesting
times.

Sounds like you need Jax riding shotgun.

That sucks! We're getting a lot of rain, and wind lately.

Scotty

Send the rain. keep the wind. (Wilhelm Reich, where are you when we need
you?)

Don't you have your own orgone generator?

Geez Gilligan, I didn't even KNOW about such things until the other day
when I found the Cloudbusting video clip on youtube and decided to find
out what the hell it was all about...for this abysmal lacuna in my
knowledge I blame my parents, my teachers, the government, the USA,
Encyclopedia Britannica, my peers, my co-workers, my supervisors, the
medical profession, all lawyers, McCarthy, you, my classmates,
alt.sailing.asa, the scientific establishment, Immanuel Velikovsky,
Freud, OMG, P&O, and the authors of the AUstralian constitution.

...TORNADO WATCH 868 IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS
AFTERNOON... ...GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM
EST THIS EVENING... ...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAINS IN
EFFECT FROM 10 PM EST THIS EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...

.THIS AFTERNOON...SE WINDS 20 TO 25 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 40
KT. WAVES 3 FT. SHOWERS AND SCATTERED TSTMS. VSBY 1 TO 3 NM
IN TSTMS. .TONIGHT...S WINDS 20 TO 25 KT. GUSTS UP TO 40 KT
IN THE EVENING. WAVES 4 FT. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS IN THE

In my office is a small NOAA receiver. It's been there for a few months now.
I saw an orange light emanating from it yesterday which I've never seen
before.
Upon further inspection I saw the words "tornado watch"
So I watched, notified a few people, security types, safety types, and
watched some more.

I really think youtube should bear some of the responsibility.
Afterall, they are the ones who've made you feel inadequate!
