![]() PDQ 36: Jeff's PDQ may not point or tack as well as my 35s5 or Donal's 33.7, but for flat out speed it's unmatched my the monohulls here. We should take note that Joe reports his 43 foot motorsailor is faster with a hull speed (he claims!) of 13 knots. Beneteau First 33.7: It's hard to know if Donal's 33.7 is faster than my 35s5, but with her slightly longer LWL and deep draft I feel that she may be a hair faster with both boats on an optimum reach. Beneteau First 35s5: I've topped 10 knots and I can confirm Donal's reports on these boats having truly exciting speed potential. My Pearson 30 and C&C 32 were fun, responsive boats, but the 35s5 is like a starship compared to my old shuttle crafts. Express 30: It may be dated and ugly, but the Express 30 is fast enough to keep pace with many larger boats. She's really only a hair slower than the Beneteau's above and is stellar in a round the cans format. If not for her lines and interior, she'd be a legend. Oh well. Kirie Elite 32: Yup, while Katie probably turtles about, the Elite is actually a pretty quick boat. And THAT'S IT. The rest of you have tired, dilapidated nautical footnotes that can't get out of their own way. Crippled Sea Cucumbers laugh as they pass you. You find yourself saying things like, "She really does well in a blow," and "She'd surprise you." Yeah, okay. RB 35s5 NY |

What does this say about Boobsie's self-proclaimed vast sailing experience? No one-design experience at all? No racing at all? Very little (if any) time in high-performance crew-ballasted boats? Maybe all that "experience" is really only half-vast? DSK |

![]() Very little (if any) time in high-performance crew-ballasted boats? What's great is to watch Doug try to troll, while he's cried and cried about my antics here. Ah well... My experience in crew balasted boats over the years... Two summers sailing Sunfish as a kid...lots of fun! Lots of sailing on Hobie 16 in recent years.... Sailing a wood Lightning as a teen...first boat I wanted to buy. Sailing an Albacore as a teen....fast boat! Sailing a laser off and on starting about 11 years ago....wanna buy mine? These are the boats I spent some time on...I've sailed others once or twice, so I don't mention them here. I am NOT an experienced sailor of these boats. I believe you need to stay in shape/practice for that kind of sailing on at least a weekly basis. I do enjoy it when I can. Sorry you didn't make the fast sailboat list, Doug. You traded in your sailing dreams for a powerboat. RB 35s5 NY |

I believe you need to stay in shape/practice for that kind of sailing on at least a weekly basis. So, you admit now you're overweight & out of shape? My goodness it must be true confession time. As for weekly practice, if you're looking to play the majors, then yes. Otherwise, it's like riding a bicycle. Once you acquire the skills & reflexes, they don't go away. I haven't sailed a Laser more often than a few hours a year for the past 15 years, but when I jump on one, it's lots of fun. Sorry you didn't make the fast sailboat list, Doug. Apology accepted, but not necessary. 1- I don't give a rat's patootie about you or your lists 2- I've owned and sailed more performance boats than you've ever heard of ... You traded in your sailing dreams for a powerboat. ??? What part of "cruising with family" do you not understand? And I still sail more (and better) than you ever will. DSK |

Well, then..since I've done some dinghy sailing this summer I'd probably trounce you with ease. I'm naturally stronger than you and I run. I'm also younger and sailing the 35s5 3 times a week on average. You "sail" a powerboat. Apology accepted, but not necessary. That's a good step in the right direction, Doug. You must learn to accept pity and we all do feel badly for you. 1- I don't give a rat's patootie about you or your lists And yet here you are, posting in my thread about sailboats while you don't even have one. Odd, eh? 2- I've owned and sailed more performance boats than you've ever heard of Golly. We're all VERY impressed with you, Doug, I'm sure! Sailing boats people have never heard of sure is amazing! ??? What part of "cruising with family" do you not understand? You're "powering" with family. You chose a powerboat. This group is comprised almost entirely of people who own cruising sailboats. And I still sail more (and better) than you ever will. Well, the first part is untrue. I sailed 4 out of 7 days last week and will be sailing Wednesday, Thursday, then sailing with friends to Cold Springs for swimming and an overnighter on Saturday/Sunday. As for the "better" part...we can only guess. I hope you're having fun somehow, Doug. Really. Now...fuel up that bad boy! Yikes! RB 35s5 NY |
