Nutsy,
Over-eating or being Hungry will impair reaction. So will being tired. Being distracted can be a lot worst than a couple of drinks. MODERATE Nutsy. I alway tried to seriously examine my own condition when the "Sun rose over the Yardarm" and if conditions warranted it; a beer or better was in order. Served me well for almost 70 years. Ol T |

Nutsy, Drinking is NOT being drunk. Bob there is a moderate, middle road that you've never discovered. It can be very comfortable. It beat the Hell out of either edge. Try it That's right Bubbles, you'll be cool if you do it DSK |

So will being tired.
Being distracted can be a lot worst than a couple of drinks. MODERATE Nutsy. I alway tried to seriously examine my own condition After some years as a bouncer, I've probably heard every excuse there is to drink and operate a car, boat and even a motorcycle. The most common is the "I've been doing it for XX amount of years and I've been fine." Well, that's great. But too many people haven't been fine and have hurt themselves and others. The bottom line is that no one drinks on my boat while underway. As you've seen from the many pics, no one has had a problem with this. Go sailing, clear your head and the bloodstream while you're at it. Now that Thomas is aboard if I see anyone drinking while piloting a boat, I will report them without hesitation. Drinking and operating ANY kind of vehicle is both childish and foolish. It's also selfish. I did my fair share of drinking, Thom. Then I grew up and realized even moderate drinking is better left behind. I haven't regretted that decision for a moment. It's very depressing to find a person drinks, smokes or voted for Bush these days. RB 35s5 NY |

But too many people haven't been fine and have hurt themselves and others. But not all, not a majority, not a large minority. A very, very small minority. The bottom line is that no one drinks on my boat while underway. Yet a Ghost Girl got groped by a drunk! As you've seen from the many pics, no one has had a problem with this. Is a picture really proof? Go sailing, clear your head and the bloodstream while you're at it. In the air of NYC? You gotta be kidding. Now that Thomas is aboard if I see anyone drinking while piloting a boat, I will report them without hesitation. Drinking and operating ANY kind of vehicle is both childish and foolish. But it is not illegal! In Wyoming and Montana you can drink and drive as long as you are not drunk. In fact you can drink and drive in all states in your blood alcohol is below the limit. It's also selfish. I did my fair share of drinking, Thom. Then I grew up and realized even moderate drinking is better left behind. That's due to a medical condition, not a moral decision. I haven't regretted that decision for a moment. Liar! You wish you had good bowel health. Then you would drink! It's very depressing to find a person drinks, smokes or voted for Bush these days. It must suck to be you. I could care less about what others do as long as they do me no harm. RB 35s5 NY |

SPLICE THE MAIN BRACE !!!!!
Scotty;
Said much better than me!! I guess Nutsy is left "Stomping By Himself" " Old Ironsides" My Kind of ship. Hey Mooron, Top This!! The U.S.S. Constitution, as a combat vessel carried 48,600 gallons of fresh water for her crew of 475 officers and men. This was sufficient to last six months of sustained operations at sea. She carried no evaporators (fresh water distillers). However, let it be noted that according to her log, "On July 27, 1798, the U.S.S. Constitution sailed from Boston with a full complement of 475 officers and men, 48,600 gallons of fresh water, 7,400 cannon shot, 11,600 pounds of black powder and 79,400 gallons of rum." Her mission: "To destroy and harass English shipping." Making Jamaica on 6 October, she took on 826 pounds of flour and 68,300 gallons of rum. Then she headed for the Azores, arriving there 12 November. She provisioned with 550 pounds of beef and 64,300 gallons of Portuguese wine. On 18 November, she set sail for England. In the ensuing days she defeated five British men-of-war and captured and scuttled 12 English merchantmen, salvaging only the rum aboard each. By 26 January, her powder and shot were exhausted. Nevertheless, and though unarmed, she made a night raid up the Firth of Clyde in Scotland. Her landing party captured a whiskey distillery and transferred 40,000 gallons of single malt Scotch aboard by dawn. The U.S.S. Constitution arrived in Boston on 20 February 1799, with no cannon shot, no food, no powder, NO rum, NO wine, NO whiskey and 38,600 gallons of stagnant water. Now, those were Sailors! No wonder she is the oldest commissioned Ship of the US NAVY. She was manned by drinking, fighting sailors. Not Drunks but HARD DRINKING SAILORS. Good night Nutsy, have your warm milk (g) You lost this discussion to Drinking Sailors :^)) Hope you learned "NOT TO CHALLENGE DRINKING SAILORS!!" and; "I'll Drink To THAT!" Ol Thom |
