They feel like a car. They are a truck especially considering the high
Cg. They roll over like trucks. In fact, much more frequently than cars. My Tribeca has an VG rollover rating, outhandles a Toyota Corolla of course and doesn't just "feel" like a car, it handles better than quite a few both in grip, handling, stopping and so on. There's no excuse for bad handling in 4-5000 lb vehicle any more. Even my new van handles quite well compared to the older models out there and it has the power to get clear of trouble as well. Or as Autobytel found in their preview test drive of the Kia.. Falling somewhere between the taut Honda Odyssey and the soft Toyota Sienna, the 2006 Kia Sedona's suspension provides a great blend of ride and handling, but occasionally the driver can feel a rubbery lack of wheel control over bad pavement. It's not harsh, and it's not loud, and it could probably be erased altogether with additional tuning. Handling is impressive for a minivan, as we discovered during a downhill run from the Palomar Mountain area that included multiple 25-mph hairpin turns. Pitching the Sedona into those hairpins at twice the recommended speed resulted in plenty of body roll and tire scrub, but in high-speed sweepers the 2006 Kia Sedona's weight transitions predictably and the tires offer good grip. And of course the Tribeca handles even better with it's 18" wheels and AWD. RB 35s5 NY |
