You won a contract with those shots?
The guy was blind?

Ozzy, you ever shoot still life? I doubt it. I've had clients like Avon
Books, MOMA, Nature, Hasbro and even local TV stations.
The shot has to match their layout and artwork. It's not about artistic
choice, but about technical ability to closely aproximate their vision.

Enjoy your 3rd best DSLR you researched so well!

Well Bob, if they were impressed with pics like that....you have been
very fortunate.

5K and the list of clients I've had pretty much says it. The money I
made with my cameras says even more. All that's left is a guy who
picked 3rd rate Canon gear who's yet to post a single shot of merit.
You'll note that even people who are no fan of me have complimented me
on my shots!
Poor Ozzy! 5K for shooting a bunch of earrings. It's killing you!

A lens with a
17-35 range factored up by 1.5 has an effective range of 25.5-52.5 -
only
9.26% of its zoom range is beyond 50mm - and you call that a
telephoto?!?

Yep, if it;s beyond 50mm it is. And nothing can change that.

You'll be claiming you're
a photographer next!

I just won a gig shooting custom Jewelry for a division of The Museum
Shope who is taking their catalogue to the US market. Here's one of the
test shots that won the job...

http://members.aol.com/bobsprit/images/test6web.jpg

About two days of work will pay me 5K. The whole job will be shot using
D200, Tamron 90 Macro and Nikon Micro 60 with a macro strobe that I
built. Will you make 5K with your camera in the next two days?
Nope...saving your food stamps I bet!
Dude, you're such a loser. All you can do is sit around and hope that
others are not better than you...but we are!

Calm down, Bob. The Museum Shope has no website yet and is not
connected with the AMNH.
Nice try.

I've checked them out with Lexis/Nexis and found they are funded by the
Skorpio Group.

While Nutsy goes ON & ON about lenses, most of us do get very decent
photographs for about 40 cents or less. Nutsy, with all his expensive
equipment does it for about $500.00 or more.

I can carry my Camera in my pocket. Nutsy has several he can carry in
his pocket. Difference of cost;---Plenty

I store my camera on a Dock, which is a charger and printer; Lord only
knows just how and where Nutsy maintains and stores his Equip.

Am I happy with my set-up YES! Is Nutsy happy with his Yes! Could I use
his set-up effectively? I don't think so. Can Nutsy use his set-up
effectively--- Good Question? Jury is still out.

To Each his own. I'm sure we're both happy. I am glad I can use his
expert knowledge ( Which I don't have) to my advantage.

Now that said; Camera and Equip. be Damned. Weather out here in the NW
is just about perfect. It's sailing weather. GO SAILING if you can

Thom:

Everyone's life has an underlying "theme". It's what they are and there is
no escape. Nutsy has a "racing" sailboat - will he ever race it? No, he just
brags about it. He's got these super duper AWD SUV's. Will they ever be used
to their potential? No? He has all this camera equipment. Are his pictures
that good? No. He has a big telescope - in a pollution shrouded wasteland.
The list just goes on and on.
These material possessions are substitutes for something he can never have.
It's all symbolic for what is wrong at Nutsy's core. That's why I out troll
him every time. That's why he has to fight to justify everything about his
life, including his hodge podge of also-ran camera gear. He's seeking
validation from everyone but not from the one person who can truly give it.
That's why his telescope is third rate and his boat is one huge blister
devoid of character. If his home theater set up was any more hokey he'd be
better off with a viewmaster and 45 RPM records. He will have all of
eternity to contemplate amongst the fires and lava in hell why his life on
earth has led him to the sulphurous netherworld below.

He stores his equipment in his head, Thom. It's ALL in his
head.

Yes, we will. But it's also a daysailor and a cruiser and we'll use her
for that as well.

The Subaru Tribeca was designed for road use. It has no undercarriage
protection like the Outback.

He has all this camera equipment. Are his pictures

People really seem to like them and I get paid for them.

He has a big telescope - in a pollution shrouded wasteland.

The nights are quite clear in the Poconos where the scopes are kept.

Woah!
