1) You might take a job someday that requires travel in the US.

No I wouldn't... no need to.

2) One of your friends or relatives might be involved in an auto accident
in the US, and you'd be called upon to intercede on their behalf.

I wouldn't go there for that reason anymore than I would travel to Iraq for
the same. If any of my relatives are stupid enought to travel someplace I
wouldn't go.. they're on their own. Crate the carcass and ship it back....
Pre-paid!

3). Scotty and I might come up there, hog tie you, put a bag over your
head, knock you unconscious, and allow you to find yourself regaining
consciousness in Laredo, TX, in the barrios.

I've been in Laredo..... and neither of you have the resource nor
capability to undertake such an overwhelming task. The pair of you would end
up drunk and passed out at the local bar waiting for me to finish my 16th
beer.

The 'guys' sailing your boat back...how's that work, are

you
paying them? They friends doing you a favor? or are they
just getting a free sailing trip?

Scotty

2 of 3....they are friends who were planning a Pacific

cruise so I get
my boat delivered and they get the cruise.
They have the boat until our next summer if they want.

I've never smoked--not tobacco, anyway--and have no

Cuban cigars seem, for some reason, to bring top dollar on

When I go to Canaduh I usually have a shopping list of cigar
brands to bring back. Can't remember the names right now.

Yes, it's a nice country, but still the

customs/immigration is a
charade......just ask how many containers entering the US

are
inspected..

I believe it's up to 5% now.

Bob, unlike you, I have a trust in most professionals.
In fact I did not commission my own survey but relied on having people
whom my US friends recommended inspecting the rig, sails and engine.
I gave the hull a quick look over and a diver did the
underwater..again a recommendation of a trusted friend.
The boat was not hauled, but a full survey document was available
(with a little encouragement) from the surveyor who had assessed the
yacht for the bank that had repoed it.

Oz, if you trust professionals why did you get amateurs to survey your boat?
The surveyors assessment for the bank is not the same as a full professional
survey as
the bank would only want a professional opinion on the market value of the
boat
they had taken in as repo. This survey would therefore leave many items you
should
have been interested in unchecked.

How many have you guys got so far???
Canada nailed both Gold & Silver on Women's Speed Skating. Still... that
won't do much to lessen the embarrassment of our Men's Hockey Team.....
those bunch of fricken slackers will catch **** when they come home with
their tails between their legs. What a **** poor performance they had!

Must explain your increased sense of humour and I bet you can chug back
