In the short term plowed roads can be more dangerous as it may expose the
packed down ice layer at the bottom. However, once the ice layer is exposed, it begins to melt and, over the longer term, the plowed road is much safer. Snow tires don't work on ice. They need snow for the tread to grab. The snow can have some adhesion to ice. So, in some cases unplowed roads offer more traction. Amen! "Scotty" wrote in message ... Both of you have after school detention ! "Bob Crantz" wrote in message k.net... Hey, I get a point for the assist! Amen! "Capt. Rob" wrote in message oups.com.. . Look at Scotty LIE!!! The first post on the subject is as follows... "Otherwise we're approaching the 1 foot mark for snow. I just took the Tribeca out for a ride...modern 4 wheel drive rocks! " And then I said plowed CAN be worse than unplowed snow, which even Bob Crantz agreed to and Mooron backpedalled like Batman after losing his utillity belt!!!! Bwahahahahahaha! I win EVERY time!
