Real Teak!!!

We have real teak veneer. If you have more solid teak (which I doubt)
it only makes overproof that much slower than the 35s5.

We'll have to test that theory someday Bob..... :-)

A Swan for local daysailing and weekend cruises on the Sound?

Yeah,
sure. That makes sense. About as much sense as Jeff's PDQ.

Translation; I can't afford one.

Careful ....Scotty .... careful .....

You'd **** Yer Drawers if you ever sailed in the seas I go out in up here.
you'd be triple reefed and furled to 75% in that light air rig.

Look Bob.... when I'm in a bay... I'm either sailing out... or sailing to
the nearest bar! There isn't anything to describe the feeling of swells,
open space and steady air..... oh well... it doesn't matter... enjoy your
protected harbour Bob.

....and that's a whole mess of actuals!!.

Big deal. My boat has real solid teak. It's a pain to keep
oiling it. I think that plastic coated veneer fake teak is
better.

Of course some folks "like" oiling thier teak.

Cripes! Bob!!!.... it's a oil soaked rag in a ziplock with Teak Oil!!!

Like CJR claimed... "one wipe'n yer good fer a week!!"

In retrospect... there's a lot to be said about the simplicity of a Windex
wipe and a spray of pledge. Seriously though..... Ozone has us all beat for
bullet proof interiors.

35s5--only a Yugo is better value :Chantiers Beneteau

Golly, Maxipad....you already said you like the boat. You're as bad at
this as Jeff.

35s5--biggest goddam swim platform this side of Texas, bar hell.

I like the 35s5 just fine. Since you seem to be clueless, Bubbles, I'll
spell it out for you: it's not your boat I'm jousting with, it's your
hubris. Humility is an endearing characteristic. You might wish to give
it a try.

Max

Kinda the pot calling the kettle black isn't it?

Oh? How's that, Gary? Do you see me bragging about my boat, my cameras, my
this, my that every day with 50 to 100 posts? Do you hear me denigrating
others boats in order to make mine seem superior?

Doug...not ONE of those boats listed matched or even came close to the
criteria I listed. no swim platforms

OH MY GOD!!! NO SWIM PLATFORMS!!!

My friend has a 5 and 1 year old. The swim platform is fantastic for
them. It's also great for dinghy use. No reason not to have it.

My lovely CCA-style boat has a low freeboard alongside the cockpit. My 3
y.o. grandson can easily slip over the side into the dink. And we lift
my 1 y.o. grandson in with ease. Swim platforms are for power boats and
floating docks. g

Max

And for race boats that want a little extra waterline and for protecting
rudders that are proud of the stern. You can lift a 1 y.o. into anything
with ease. The sugar scoop stern (racer)aka swim platform (cruiser) is
here to stay.

Yup, they are. So are Chris Bangle's ugly new BMW auto designs. No
accounting for aesthetic taste these days. Actually I have only one thing
against arytenoid sterns with platforms--they tend to be found on boats with
exaggerated beam carried aft. Most of these boats tend to drag their sterns
horribly. If they did not, I believe they'd all be faster and accelerate
more easily. These sterns are strictly a compromise--hullplan efficiency
traded for comfort and convenience. In their favor they are convenient for
older or less agile people to board from dinghies, and they are a nice place
from which to pee when underway.
