We've sailed our 35s5 WK SR on the SF bay for 6 years and few boats can
touch us. We've sailed many performance cruisers, J32, Express 35, C&C
37 and so on. For a while we planned to get the Goman Express 35. It's
slightly faster than the 35s5 and costs less on average to buy. But
they are tough to find and the interior is pretty awful compared to the
35s5 design winner. As you pointed out the 35s5 also has a better
layout for a family and the swim platform is great for our kids and
dog. The Express 35 we used to race on now hates us as we've beaten him
plenty of times boat for boat. In light air we usually prevail. You'll
love the 35s5, especially if you can score a good rating in your area.
If you cruise her you'll never look back. She does everything a Tartan
350 or Catalina 36 would do...only faster!

Yes, the interior of the Express 35 is as Depressed as the 30...and
dated.
