That is an adjustable pitch prop. Adjustable and variable mean the same

thing in
this context. The blades on a variable pitch prop do not change position.

They
are fixed in place permanently. Variable pitch props are props where the

blades
have a different pitch near the axis than they have at the tips. In other

words,
the pitch "varies" from hub to the outer end.
