Default Variable Pitch Prop

I'm in the process of building an e-boat and am looking for a ~19 inch
variable pitch prop along with probably the shaft and any controls that may
be associated with it.

A friend of mine told me that Volvo makes one, but none of their dealers
seem to know anything about it.

I have been told by others that older fishing boats used to use these, but
were unable to supply a manufacturer name.

If anyone knows of a source, it would be greatly appreciated.

Luke, Maxprop, Autoprop, Martec make feathering props with adjustable
pitches. They give you a recommended pitch, you make any necessary
adjustments. Pricey, very pricey in the case of the Luke, which are
one-offs.

Was that what you were referring to?

You should consider a Brunton Weill AUTOPROP. I Have had 2 on different
vessels a Fisher 25 and a Fisher 30. You do not need any controls. They
automatically assume the correct pitch. A super product.

The idea behind a variable pitch prop is
you keep the engine at a fixed rpm and
adjust the pitch to control your speed.

For reverse, you reverse the pitch so
docking is much easier. You would only
use your reverse in your transmission to
chose the "prop-walk" direction, for docking.

Bill, Another description for the Brunton Autoprop is an auto-reversing
prop.Apart from
the prop assuming the correct pitch when under way..when put into reverse
the leading edge of the prop blades swivel and become the leading edge in
reverse,a very real brake.hopr this helps

Bill is talking about a variable pitch prop not an
adjustable pitch prop. Here is what you want Bill.

Helseth in Norway.
