That whole fiasco looks like something I would do.

Not surprising, it looked like the boat got really hammered.

Turns out someone I know knows this guy, and I'm trying to find out.
Obviously, he made had a big lapse in judgement. I just can't imagine

why.
It's pretty obvious when there are breaking waves.

Maybe he was in close, trying to avoid an unfavorable current. Maybe he
thought he could get a boost by surfing those waves. Maybe there was a
really beautiful woman on shore he wanted to get a closer look at.

The wages of stupidity, more like.

And the boat may not have needed bottom work. A lot of boats that get
prepped for racing have very patchy looking bottoms from being sanded
fair... the anti-foul is this slick short-term stuff that's clear.

That may be true but facts have no place in a religious discussion grin.
Sailboats are meant to be worked on, not sailed. If the lord wanted them
sailed they wouldn't need so much work! These pictures show the results of
sin. If it'd been on the hard getting painted it wouldn't have sank.
Right? Remember that next time a mellow breeze lures you into temptation.

Ah yes. Very true.

Sailboats are meant to be worked on, not sailed.

Indeed. What is faith without works?

But one must demonstrate one's virtue by sailing every once in a while.
It is not a surrender to temptation, it is a triumph of the will and a
hallmark of grace. But truly, man was meant to sail his boat by the
sweat of his brow!

Sailing it creates more work. Your whole point is true. I doubt many others
see the true irony.

It shows the evils of sailing in the wrong place and the wrong time.

Take your meds, Ole Thom! Databasix didn't 'start it up' - netKKKops Jonathan Ganz
and Catherine Haight started it. They can finish it simply by apologizing to the group
for disrupting it with their netKKKopping. Pretty simple, huh?

Neal,

Just about the total group disagree with you (&LP) if it is of any
interest to you. Your Gary has Donal fool but only for awhile. You and
LP are laughing at Donal but LP is prancing it around and screwing up
your cover. Enjoy it, it's a very small minority!

I hope this is my last post on the whole sorry mess. You were wrong to
allow outside people into the group the way you did. I can't excuse that
as most of the group can't excuse it. I hope that is plain enough
English for Gary

I'm finished with it. It's History. A died horse.

"Wrong to allow outside people into the group?"

Do you, in your dotage, believe alt.sailing.asa is a moderated group and
that I am the moderator?

No offense, Old Chap, but you're starting to sound like a moron.

Thom, really you need to give it a rest. Neal and others have been bragging
for a long time about how they've "reported me." They are liars on most
subjects, bigots for sure, and responding to them just gives them fuel.

I know you're not into kill filing but it really works. Basically, it
removes the temptation to reply to their stupid, hate-filled crapola, it
completely takes the wind out of their sails because they get no energy from
it, and it totally infuriates them at the same time. Judging from the
subject lines and the copied posts, Neal is having a fit that I don't
respond. I don't usually quote Jesus, but when he said "turn the other
cheek," he was right on. (I'm sure this will generate the usual derogatory
comments, but the good news is that I won't see them!)
