I believe we'd be doing them a favour by taking their money to pay for
our beer!!

Beer? BEER? This from the iconoclastic Cannuck who accused moi of
churlish tastes for drinking anything less than 10000000 proof rum?

P'shaw.

Max

Capt. Mooron February 19th 05 02:20 PM

I concur... send the beer money to Kitty. When we get a stockpile going we
can sell the excess and cash in for plane tickets to Florida where we can
all party on Capt. Neal's new boat

And offend the socialists among us? Nay..not. Everyone must pay the same
for the same service. And the stipends should go to me, of course, as I
am the most honest and upright amount this throng, except maybe for Scout,
who is almost as good a Papist as I am.

Motion proposed and seconded. All in favor, say "aye"....

Wait, wait, wait . . . . Perchance before we cast our ballots, should we
not decide to whom such stipends are paid, and to whom they are not? Can
one, in good conscience, assess fees to be paid by lurkers to the likes
of Bubbles or Jon-boy? And should certain individuals not be accrue
greater remuneration than others. Certainly Neal, DSK, Katy, Oz, Scotty,
Gilligan, or the long-lost Nav, for examples, would command greater
monies than would myself, Jeff, or BB the Inept.

Now, see what a Pandora's box thou has opened?

Still haven't tried Samuel Adams, have ya? Didn't think so.

At least you aren't guzzling that Canadian urine-substitute known as Molson,
which, incidentally, has joined forces with another of those American
brewery icons, Coors.

Molson: Canadian for Coors :-p

They're riverfronts....and Fosters is making a motza selling the beer
we won't drink to the rest of the world.

Several summers back, a new acquaintance and his spouse invited us to their
boat for cocktails. Feeling a bit dehydrated, I had a water, while he and
the others drank his Fosters, of which he appeared very proud to be serving.
*Check it out--I'm serving this fine, imported ale, yeah?*

After quenching my thirst, I opened mouth/inserted foot by saying, "Could I
have one of the Australian Budweisers, please?"

Talk about a facial expression that spoke volumes! It said, 'get off my
boat, unclean thing, and show thy face here never again.' I really felt
badly, but drank the Fosters anyway.

We ultimately became good friends, and thanks to some edification from our
circle of friends whilst in less than unaltered states of mind, he is aware
that Fosters is the Ozzie equivalent of the ubiquitous American
beer-substitutes, such as Millers, Coors, Bud, Strohs, etc., ad nauseum.

In a way I did the man a favor. :-)

That'll be the Chimay Blue. It really is superb stuff - one of the very best
beers to be had anywhere, at any price.

The problem with yank 'quality' beers is that the baseline **** is so bad,
they think mediocre is something to write home about!

No I haven't...... but friends who have tasted Samuel Adams are of the
opinion that it would be a waste of time.... Time which would be better
spent drinking a good tasting beer.

Molson: Canadian for Coors :-p

I agree..... I won't drink that foul brew..... and they had to stop the
"I am Canadian" advertising program!! :-)

A Belgian Company purchased LaBatts I believe...

Thus .... from what I'm led to believe.... is the rational for Max
suggesting Samuel Adams! :-)

remember the first years when you were ion the dock and the perplexed looks
from a certain few that just didn't get it...
