How about bridge jumpers? Bet they change their mind about 1/2 way

I've done that, but I have super powers.

Well, a few years back, on my way home from Annapolis, a girl jumped
off the Bay Bridge as I was sailing towards it about 1/4 mile away.
CG radioed for all mariners to be on lookout for the body. They
spotted her with their helo later.

Only the gayboys of the Navy use "helos." The Army uses choppers.

BTW, how can you drown in the Chesapeake Bay? It's only three feet
deep. I ran aground in a dingy a mile away from shore. I just pulled
up the daggerboard, and sailed on. I coulda walked to shore, if I had
enough beer.

Pathetic Earthlings! No one can save you now!
