You claimed your old fashon
interior was better but NEVER posted what made it better.

Again....now for the FOURTH TIME....

Alien's interior has a great layout, more room, nicer finish, more
storage....EVERY table and fitting below has a hand-hold. The Express?
Do you have the dinette or this?

Do you have the enclosed or open head?

More room - probably.
Great layout - for you maybe.
nicer finish - How?
More storage - says who? Where are your tanks?
The Express in the picture has it's table removed. Every Express has a dining
table. Express Yachts just made it easy to remove.
You ain't won yet.

You mean a table SMACK in the middle of the cabin? Awful. Our dinette is simply
more functional allowing 4 people to have a meal without closing off the whole
boat.
And the table lowers to turn into a very large double.
There is no question that the 32 has more storage. Do you have the head open to
the V or enclosed?

Like ALL boats with a centerline dining table the Express's table has folding
leafs. It ain't a problem. Plus it is removable.

I always wondered why Bob didn't like the Express - now I know why!

Right, need to get through? Everyone picks up their food, plates and drinks,
lower a leef and your done. How nice.

Nutsy,

I had one boat with a Dinette Lay-out. My first sailboat with a cabin. I
swore it would be my last. I've been true to that.

A Dinette is great when at anchor or in a slip or on a power boat. On a
Sailboat, in a heeled position, it is a waste of space.

In fact, I kind of feel the same way about any table when a boat in
heeled. Classic or Dinette layout. When you're heeled, Dining graciously
is out of the question. It is a one hand to hold and one the feed, a
seat to wedge into. This wedge part is a hell of a lot easier in a
classic layout. Getting rid of the table is a big plus.

That's this fat, old man feelings. For what its worth.

What ever are you talking about? Why aren't you on deck when sailing? Underway
we find the quarter berth snug and secure if either of us wants a nap.. At
anchor the dinette is simply fantastic and is far nicer. It also opens to a
very large double. It never blocks off the whole cabin. Sadly, our next boat
has no dinette. Most large boats have a dinette including a Swan 48. Waste of
space? Don't think so!

What exactly is the table wasting underway. We find it easy to eat at the table
unless we are VERY heeled and then we're on deck anyway. Aboard Alien, 4 people
can eat and someone can use the head or go forward for sleep without climbing.
Nice. Short of striking table altogether, the dinette is a friend we'll miss.
