so that portion of the conjecture gets
ignored as far as I'm concerned. The 4hp Yamaha or Nissan would be more than up to the job. Personally, I'd rather have a 4 hp Yamaha than a 5 hp Nissan. I'd really like to have the max HP for the Porta-bote. The Nissan 5hp weighs in at 55lbs. The Honda 5HP would be my top choice, but it's 60lbs, over the limit by 6 for the Porta-bote. We have three people in a dinghy plenty of times and I think the extra HP will be nice. The price of the 4,5,6 are also pretty close, so I thought I'd split it and get the 5. My Tohatsu that was stolen a few weeks back was a great motor. If you don't agree that the extra 1 hp will help please explain. Sandy at Porta-bote also suggested the 5 HP for the 10' model. I doubt money was much of a factor as they are so close in price. RB |
