Better than a sharp stick in the eye, our competition ran into a hole, our
hole wasn't as big but it cost them more than it cost us. As close as 3
miles to the finish we thought they had us beat by miles, literally. We ran
into another small hole about 500 ft. from the line, basically drifted
across.

The skipper was ambiguos about doing the race until I asked him to measure
my boat for a PHRF rating certificate, I told him I was going to race in the
singlehanded division this year. I got to give him grief today, I would have
collected a 2nd place flag if I had done the race in the singlehanded
division.
