Well the letter is signed "Tavernier"....

Maybe he meant a person who frequents taverns as opposed to one who owns a
tavern.
The latter being totally useless to me. ;-)

Course maybe he AND Knobspit are both in Cuba .. . I can see it now.
Bobspit leads or follows or stays in a hotel behind the Cuban Army. Cpt
Neal and his friends from Calle Ocho are holed up in the Escambrey's.
Shades of 1959! Where's Time and Newsweek when you really need them?
Perhaps Neal on a Barbara Walters interview? Book? Movie Deal?

Not to worry, you honery old fart . . .

I'm doing just fine. Sailed up to Punta Gorda to check out my
storm trysail on Charlotte Harbor. Got caught in a bit of a blow.
Had winds of 120 knots but managed to go to weather in spite of it.

Respectfully,
Capt. Neal

If Neal is down in Cuba, he will have to wait until after November to
come back or the conservative politicians that he has come to admire
will come down on him like a ton of bricks The politically
connected Cuban-Americans I know seem to think that things will change
after the election, no matter who wins. I suspect so...the current
policy is idiotic. I would like to go there myself, but I am not
about to risk a felony and the seizure of my assets, all to appease
the radical fringe of a Florida voting group. Then again, screw
them...I may go anyway.
