We had a dodger on the O'Day...hated the thing and don't have one on Chantuese...they impede vision, create drag, and make a further deck hazard....we decided foulies and ski goggles work just as well and since the slide hatch keeps out the weather from the companionway, there was no need. You have to remember, though, that Bob has to have one to protect all that fair skin of the alien ladies he entertains.... -- katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com Don't know about Lake Michigan, the prevailing winds and orientation might mean they get some bigger waves up there, but on Lake Erie, you might need a dodger once in a blue moon. I would imagine the same goes for LIS. Now a bimini, otoh, would be fairly useful just about anywhere. John Cairns |
