That's a really good power boat. One of my best friends has one. Even after
5 years he can still get close to what he paid for it. it's a well balanced
and well laid out vessel with great windows in the cabin to offer a
fantastic view.

However I fail to see what this has to do with Jim buying a POS......

You neet to restrict your comments to sailing vessels.

Oh no Donal... my nautical knowledge base is quite vast. The Bayliner 2455
Ciera Classic is a fine power boat. Solid lines and good performance. Sort
of like the Benneteau of power boats... only better.

Kinda like the redneck pickup truck of fishing boats, only worse.

Jim won't regret his purchase because he is sensible enough to sail a boat
within its limits. It won't perform in the way that he expects. That
doesn't really matter. He will still get enormous pleasure from sailing.

Exactly, the only thing what matters is what Jim thinks about his
boat. But I don't think that's the point. The point is that he
justifies his purchase with wrong assumptions in the eyes of most
people (the vocal ones, that is) in this newsgroup, and those
assumptions are attacked IMO. I do think it's a pitty that those
discussions end in a name calling contest, though.....

Cheers!

Now Now Now...... not all dissenters and beraters were reduced to name
calling. Yet Donal specifically took issue with me despite my civil but
persistent replies.

Never could see the point in such practices, seems a might juvenile.

Isn't anybody concerned about the welfare of Jims grandchildren? Jim may do as he pleases, but it would be preferable if he didn't kill some of his
progeny in the process.

Cheers
