Default What will Phil do next?

It is always nice when someone you know does well.

I was rally rooting for Phil this time. I'm so glad
he won it. No one deserves it more.

I'd be happy if I could play golf--even a little bit.

I broke one of the bones in my left arm at the elbow
joint, and now can't totally straighten out that arm,
which put the end to my golfing. Surgery made it
worse. I've considered trying to learn golf again
leftie--where I would not need to have the left arm
straight. I can imagine how bad I'd be.

On the other hand, if I can tough through the
considerable pain I get when I connect on a solid
right handed drive, maybe the scar tissue will start
to break down and it will fix itself. Self torture
is not my forte, or I would have become a physical
therapist. Perhaps I'll take a few trips to the
driving range, with something for the pain, and see
what happens.

When I was a teenager, I worked as a caddie. On slow
days, and when the ponds were low, my brother and I'd
collect golf balls. We'd go into the trash bins and
pull out all the original boxes, and repackage what we
found. One day we totaled it up. We had two dozen,
dozen boxes, in new boxes. That's two gross! grin

They were all sorted by brand and condition. Our most
prized were the perfect Titleist big dimples. Each
in individual three pack boxes--sorted by the numbers
on the balls into three packs. These were new balls
hit once without a mark on them.

The quality and grading decreased down to the gashed
balls we would tee up on the top of our hill, and use
to try to hit the neighbors house. Every once in a
while, we'd connect and worry we might actually make
a 300 yard drive and hit it. I've sure they found many
unexplained golf balls in their yard over the years.

The nicer balls we didn't want to use, and we finally
settled on the plan of giving them to our Aunt Barbara
for Christmas gifts. We kept her in supply for
probably 15 years, apologizing towards the end for
the lesser quality of our gifts.

How is your golf Donal? Are you a leftie or a rightie?

I was very disappointed to see Rose collapse today. He is a member at a
local club, and my instructor has played with him several times.

Hmmmm! I'm right handed. I don't play often enough to have a decent
handicap. I can do 18 holes in about 96.

However, my 14 y/o son is going to be good...... very good!

He has just become a Junior Member at one of this country's best clubs.
Today, he played 18 for 98. In four weeks he will be below 90.

Last week he played a round with a friend. After the game I asked them
about their score. His friend said that he had played "OK". I asked for
actual scores. His friend said that he scored ONE over par!!!!!! 14
y/o!!!!! My son is very competitive ...

That was a piece of luck for Phil to be able to watch
Dimarco's putt on the exact same line. I knew Phil had
it won before he stepped up to putt.

See, if you could watch Dimarco's breaks, you would have
had that 6 under.

almost to the point where it seemed 'set up'.

I was rooting for a tie, but it was exciting the way it went.

I'm taking my sawzall next time.

Good idea. Do you remember the talk of the
Eisenhower tree? Old Ike should have brought
a chainsaw with him.

G.W.? How so--send to to Guantanimo?

Better yet, our friend Phil who stays clear of it!
