Do you think it could go up-wind? Only if JAXAshby were at the helm. Nice looking rig, but the square chined hull make it kinda ugly. I like Bruces boats. And I hear good things about they spray model. Like what? Paint it up like a pirate ship and it would make a nice tourist boat for a summer bay sails. We have one here called the Jolly Roger but it not Square rigged. I like to take RedCloud broadside to her in the bay, just wish we had cannons. Now that might be fun, after all sinking a boatload of tourists would be a big plus in most locations. Or you could just load with grape ![]() However, looking at the thing from the standpoint of sailing performance... you could make a better sailing vessel by turning an average storage shed upside down, lining it with tarpaper, and ballasting it with gravel from your neighbors driveway. A few bedsheets for sails, and it's Cape Horn Ho! Fresh Breezes- Doug King |
