Very soon after I took delivery of the boat, I realised that I would never take her to France. However, I still had 10 *very* good years of sailing (ok - motoring) in her. Or, I can tow the boat down to various points on the coast and launch it there. - Sounds like hard work....... OK if you are under 25 years old.
